CRLA Certifications

International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC)

Since 1989, over 1,000 college tutor training programs around the globe have received ITTPC at one or more Levels. These programs have recognized thousands as Certified Tutors, Certified Advanced Tutors, or Certified Master Tutors.

International Peer Educator Training Program Certification (IPTPC)

Established in 1998, IMTPC and what is now referred to as IPTPC, offers colleges and universities the resources necessary to develop new and to improve existing peer educator training programs.

Benefits of Certification

ITTPC and IPTPC provide professionals with the opportunity to create, improve, and expand tutor and peer educator training for a campus’ unique programs. CRLA-certified programs demonstrate high standards:

  • Certification provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors’ and peer educators’ successful work;
  • Certification sets professional standards of skill and training for tutors and peer educators;
  • Certification augments program credibility for administrators and institutions.

CRLA membership is not required for staff of certified programs. However, the CRLA Board and members invite you to join this very special organization.

“ CRLA was the spark I needed to experiment with new best practices in developmental education. I love networking with my fabulous colleagues across many different colleges and universities. CRLA was the missing piece to my professional development, and my involvement currently is not only a professional but provides personal fulfillment as well.”
