Jose Paez-Figueroa has almost 30 years of experience in higher educa
tion. He earned his bachelor's from Universidad del Norte,
Colombia and his masters in Science of Management from Thomas Edison
University.
Currently, he is a PhD candidate in instructional design and
technology at Liberty University. During his professional career in
higher education, he has held several roles, which include peer tutor.
He is the Assistant Dean of Learning Resources
at UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ and in this role, he
oversees the tutoring centers, distance education, and media services.

Cheryl Capuchina
North Central Texas College

Cheryl Capuchina has more than 18 years of experience in
higher education. She earned her BAAS and M.Ed. from the University of
North Texas. All of her higher education experience has been with North
Central Texas College where she currently works as
Tutoring Services Coordinator in the Student Success Center.
In her role, she leads the peer and professional tutoring programs and
oversees the CRLA training and certification of those programs. The
tutoring programs at NCTC have been certified
for over 15 years which lead Cheryl to want to volunteer
with CRLA. She has been an ITTPC Application Reviewer for over seven
years and has reviewed many programs in that time.
