SIGs and SRCsSpecial Interest Groups (SIGs)CRLA has ten Special Interest Groups (SIGs), each with a specific focus within the areas that reading and learning assistance professionals' work. Joining a SIG may be a good first step in getting involved with CRLA. These groups reflect the current issues and interests of CRLA members and facilitate CRLA’s mission to provide college reading and learning professionals with an open forum to discover and exchange the leading tools and techniques to enhance student academic success. As a CRLA member you may join a SIG when you renew your membership or anytime during the year by accessing the MyCRLA portion of the website. Select the SIG for more information about the group. States, Regions, and Chapters (SRCs)CRLA offers members the opportunity to join local States/Regions/Chapters (SRCs) to connect with those in a specific geographic area for professional development and collaboration. Joining an SRC is a good first step in getting involved as these groups discuss current issues and interests faced by CRLA members in the area. These collaborations facilitate CRLA’s mission to provide college reading and learning professionals with an open forum to discover and exchange the leading tools and techniques to enhance student academic success. SRC Leaders play a pivotal role at the annual conference, with each region having an opportunity to meet at a specially-designated time at the conference. SRC members are encouraged to participate within their groups through conference-related activities, as well as through submitting to their SRC newsletter, e-blast, or other community forums.
